Wealth Corner Finder
Find your wealth corner three different ways — from your bed, from your front door, and from your birth element — and learn exactly what belongs there.
Find your wealth corner
How to use it
- Choose the method that matches your home — from the bed, from the door, or from your birth element.
- Follow the standing instructions to identify the corner.
- Choose the remedy that matches the element you need, and place it there.
Method one: the wealth corner from your bed
This is the standard method and it works because it ties the corner to the person who sleeps there, which is where the money is actually spent.
Stand at the foot of your bed
Face the headboard, as though you were lying in bed looking up at the ceiling.
Find your left side
Your left hand points to the Di position — the wealth corner. Your right hand points to the Gui position, the honour corner where you display credentials, awards and family photographs.
Use your actual lying position, not where the bed ought to go. If your bed is currently against the wrong wall, work out the corner from your desired bed position instead, then move the bed to match.
Method two: the wealth corner from your front door
The door method is quicker and often more intuitive in a small home. Stand in the doorway facing into the house — not outside on the step — and your right side points to the wealth corner.
The door method and the bed method frequently disagree, and that is expected: they are calculated from different reference points. Practitioners generally trust the bed method for money, because the bedroom is where you spend more hours and therefore where money energy is more directly connected to you. When the two disagree, use the bed method for the wealth corner and the door method for the honour corner.
Method three: the wealth corner by birth element
The third method connects the corner to your personal element rather than your furniture. It is the approach to use when you are furnishing from scratch, or when you want a corner that works regardless of how the room is laid out.
| Your element | Wealth direction | Colours |
|---|---|---|
| Wood | Southeast | Green, teal |
| Fire | South | Red, pink, purple |
| Earth | Southwest and Northeast | Yellow, beige, brown |
| Metal | West and Northwest | White, gold, silver |
| Water | North | Black, navy, blue |

What to place in the wealth corner
The corner is only as good as what sits in it. A dusty ornament or a dying plant actively cancels the remedy.
- Water — a small aquarium or fountain, the strongest of all remedies. It must drain into the room, never toward the door, and it must be running. Filtered but still water counts as stagnant and is treated as a liability.
- Metal — a brass or bronze object, a small round mirror, coins in a dish, a metal ornament. Metal draws wealth to itself and circulates it.
- Wood — a healthy green plant, a wooden box for valuables, a wooden carving. Wood grows value over time, so it suits long-term accumulation.
- Earth — a ceramic or stone object, a money box, a low heavy piece of furniture. Earth is stability and storage.
- Fire — warm lighting, a candle, an amber or red glass object, a framed certificate. Fire is visibility and reputation, which in turn attracts money.
Whatever you choose, keep it alive, clean and unobstructed. If the corner is occupied by a radiator, a bin or a pile of storage boxes, clear it first.
Common mistakes
Putting the aquarium in the doorway. Water at the entrance is the classic 'washing the wealth out' error. If you want flowing water, it belongs in the wealth corner of the living room, not at the front door.
Two remedies fighting each other. A heavy metal object and a fish tank in the same small corner will cancel out. Pick one.
Moving the corner furniture every year. The wealth corner from your bed changes when you move the bed. If you re-arrange the bedroom, re-check the corner.
Expecting a remedy to do the work of a layout fix. An aquarium in the wealth corner cannot rescue a bed that sits on the door axis. Fix the geometry first.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the feng shui wealth corner?
The Di position — the corner of the room where your personal money energy gathers. You find it by standing at the foot of your bed facing the headboard and looking to your left. It is traditionally associated with the accumulation of wealth over a lifetime.
Which corner is the honour corner?
The Gui position — the corner to your right when you stand at the foot of your bed facing the headboard. It is where you display degrees, awards, contracts and family photographs. The honour corner is about status and recognition; the wealth corner is about money.
Should the aquarium go in the wealth corner?
Usually yes — a running aquarium in the wealth corner is the classic and strongest wealth remedy, provided it drains into the room and not toward the door. It must contain healthy living fish and be genuinely running, because a still or neglected tank reads as stagnant energy.
My bedroom is too small for a corner. Does it still work?
Yes. The corner is defined by the geometry of your bed and door, not by the size of the room. In a small room the wealth and honour corners will be close together, which is fine. What does not work is an obstructed corner — if a wardrobe or a door swing fills it, the remedy has nowhere to sit.
